Jubilee's Kanini Kega Concedes Defeat In MP Race

Hon Kanini Kega, the National Elections Director for the Jubilee Party, conceded defeat in the Kieni parliamentary elections a few hours ago.

However, while the top vocal Mount Kenya MP did not specify to whom he is conceding defeat, preliminary records indicated that the United Democratic Alliance's Njoroge Wainaina was poised to win.

Hon Kanini Kega had served the people of Kieni for ten years and was trying to regain his seat for a third term. However, the UDA wave in Mount Kenya shattered all expectations in the 2022 polls which were conducted yesterday. Hon Kega accepted the outcome as per provision results. The vocal legislator alleged that he has open a new chapter after the defeat.

He was a major supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and defended Azimio la Umoja One coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the Mount Kenya region.

President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed support for Raila Odinga within the Azimio coalition, of which Jubilee is a key member in the coalition.
