"As Kenyans, we need to wake up and pray."
The just-concluded Matungu, Kabuchai and London Ward by-elections were marred with chaos, police brutality and political mayhem. Although a section of leaders including Dp Ruto allies reportedly 'misbehaved' during the mini polls, police actions have sent Chills to Ruto-led Hustler Nation.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, political leaders and allies believed to be Ruto's supporters were harassed by the police and 'goons' purportedly being protected by the government. This is according to Hustler spokesman Dennis Ole Itumbi.
Itumbi has protested against the biased arrests of political leaders involved in Matungu, Kabuchai and London Ward by-elections. He says, "FredMatiangi & IG_NPS are you serious that you are NOT biased in your arrest of those who used violence in the By-Elections? Why are these goons walking free? No worries we know, you are Protecting them. But do not pretend in Public to be serious."
Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot is among other leaders who have joined Ruto supporters in protest against police brutality on Ruto's allied politicians. Cheruiyot argues that he clearly believes that the police brutality on UDA supporters is aimed at a show of power by the 'enemies.' He too, is struggling to make sense of why the same frustrations were meted out by police on ODM in Matungu.
