Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua has stated that the incoming president will be sworn in even if outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is not there.
On Tuesday, Odinga promised to contest the choice of William Ruto as deputy president.
When compared to Odinga's 6,942,930 votes, he received 7,176,141.
Gachagua stated that the transition and handover process will not be impacted in any way by his absence during an interview on Kass TV.
Uhuru has publicly stated that he will not cede power to Ruto.
He brought up the US as an example, where the defeated Donald Trump gave a wide berth.
But we are expecting him to behave properly.
The "continuing quiet by the leader of the state" has also caused alarm, according to Gachagua.
He stated that even if he is not required to offer congratulations to the winner, it would be prudent for him to emerge from his "hideout" and address the country.
Even if he chooses not to congratulate Ruto, he should still do the right thing and convey peace to Kenyans, the man remarked.
