Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga finds himself in the middle of the storm following reports that the government of Kenya allegedly funded his operations for several years when he served as the african union representative for infrastructural development.
However, he has refuted these reports and even threatened to sue the Nation Media group following the story published by the media house.
However, it seems there is no breathing space for the former prime minister as Nandi county Senator Samson Cherargei has called for the removal of Raila Odinga's security detail by president William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.
According to Cherargei, the former prime Minister's security, official cars and office should be withdrawn. He said this and at the same time called for Kenya to stop remitting funds to the African union.
"Kenya should suspend annual African union subscription until the full amount of money that Raila Odinga used of 2B as an envoy of infrastructure ... Raila Odinga intention to sue Nation Media group is a threat to media freedom . Next is the removal of privileges of the office of the former prime minister eg cars ,security, office etc," he said.
