Recently, they have been claims that Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Nassir has stepped down the Mombasa Gubernatorial race for his archrival businessman Suleiman Shahbal, after he was pressured by Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga and the outgoing Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
The claims further revealed that Abdulswamad Nassir stepped down after he brokered a deal with his party leader Raila Odinga ahead of 2022 General Elections.
However, according to the Daily Nation, Honourable Abdulswamad Nassir has refuted claims that he has stepped down the Mombasa gubernatorial race in favour of businessman Suleiman Shahbal.
According to the video shared by Daily Nation on their official Facebook account, Mvita MP Nassir maintained that he will be vying for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat come 2022, where he dismissed the rumours that he has stepped down.
He added that while they will be busy selling propaganda to people ,he will be busy doing his work. He said that his good deed makes people to love him and they have endorsed him to go for Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
