Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja as thanked Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance for their support amid alleged rift with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Clearing claims that he and Gachagua were not in good terms over Nairobi leadership and orders given out by him, Sakaja said that for him to survive, he had to involve all political parties in his leadership.
Defending himself from Gachagua's outburst after he appointed Azimio Members to key seats, Sakaja thanked Raila Odinga and Nairobi County Assembly members for heeding to his request.
Initially, Azimio party had demanded a fifty fifty share of CECs and Chief of staffs seats but Sakaja pleaded with them to allow him to only allocate them three seats and seven seats to UDA party which they accepted.
It is this three appointment that saw UDA affiliated members accuse Sakaja of rewarding their political rivalries at the expense of UDA members.
However, Sakaja made it clear that before the appointments, he had consulted President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, who were both in agreement.
He also revealed that the same cross-party consultations were used to dish out other positions including house committee leadership, insisting that Nairobi is for all and is an international interest.
Mr Sakaja said to have a working Nairobi government he must reach out to all, negotiate, enter into concessions and pursue unity of purpose that will ease service delivery.
