The former president of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete, an observer who is also a member of the East African Community, conducted an assessment of conflict prevention and mitigation of the risk factors that should be taken into account in this year elections. In his speech earlier he said, "election observation is one of the fundermental of promoting good governance and democracy in East Africa Community as per the treaty and as per the principal of election observation and valuation of 2012." He also added that their are several members that make a mission. In constituting these mission the inspector general is guided by the principal that no national of the country holding the elections will be a member of the observation mission, Kenya is therefore not a member. The members of the mission now includes; AU, COMESA IGAD and EAC who joined highly for the elections consultative mission. Later, these bodies joined and conducted an assessment of Covid prevention and mitigation of the risk factors to be taken into account during this years elections. Members of the East African team were deployed in 27 counties in kenya where they monitored the elections.
