The Central Organisation of Trade Unions(COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has once again sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans following his revelation ahead of the much anticipated 2022 polls. While addressing a crowd in Bungoma, the outspoken trade unionist claimed that he shall unveil a lengthy list of leaders who shall take over Western region ahead of 2022. And that he shall publicly read the names of the leaders at Bukhungu Stadium located in Kakamega County.
Reiterating on the issue, Atwoli alleged that his team was already on the ground collecting data on the favourites to take on the gubernatorial and Members of Parliament in 2022. Atwoli said that the names shall be read at the end of the year, that is on December 31. 2022 is expected to be a busy year for Kenyans as the country enters a political season full of rallies and campaigns as top politicians unveil themselves for different seats within the government.
Atwoli also warned the people of Western Kenya about a section of leaders who could give them unwarranted leadership if elected. However, Atwoli's sentiments haven't augured well with a section of Kenyans who have questioned him authority to choose the type of leaders he wants despite not being a politician.
