President William Ruto has made another major statehouse appointment which has seen former KTN news journalist considered. Michael Gitonga has been appointed by President Ruto as the Secretary of State functions. This is a major appointment though Gitonga will be serving under Hussein Mohammed who is the statehouse Spokesperson.

Micheal Gitonga worked for KTN new before he was fired unceremoniously due to Covid-19. It's a fact that the move by the president to appoint Gitonga is obviously a welcome move and a clear confirmation that Ruto doesn't forget his allies.
There was a general feeling that some of the journalists who were aligned to President Ruto were fired. However, Ruto has moved ahead to reward some of his top allies and he is obviously not leaving anybody behind.
President Ruto has focused on building his administration especially by replacing those who supported Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. Kenyans are however waiting to see of how Michael Gitonga will serve in his capacity as the Secretary of State functions.
