Orange Democratic party leader, Hounerable Raila Odinga is currently in Meru county where he is engaging leaders and residents on Azimio La Umoja drive. In his convoy, he is accompanied by Governor Kiraitu Murungi of Meru, Murithi of Laikipia, Joho of Mombasa, Kenneth, Gladys Wanga, Junet Mohammed among others.
He was recieved well in Maua town, where there was a little drama that forced Kiraitu Murungi to act Immediately to contain the situation. While acknowledging leaders, Kiraitu bypassed Munya, something that did not sit well with Locals who demanded cabinet secretary to be recognized by the area governor. Sensing danger of being shouted down, Kiraitu Murungi acted quickly by saying that Munya will be allowed a chance to speak in the rally. He was given a microphone and residents were seen happy to be addressed by him.

Munya and Murungi are rivals on Meru governorship seat. In 2017, Munya failed to defend his seat after being defeated by Kiraitu. However, he has maintained that he will recapture his seat and continue with developments he initiated while in power. Their rivary has played out in public on different occasions raising questions on who will be the governor come next year. Well, let's wait and see how things will play out.
