The creation of regional kingpins has now take more shape in the country. The nation has also witnessed the formation of coalitions and alliances as the supremacy battle ahead of 2022 intensifies. ODM presidential candidate, Jimmy Wanjigi has already decided to challenge ODM chief after he declared his presidential ambitions and decided to conduct parallel campaigns.
ODM which has been the most influential party in the country and the one that got the greatest support at the Coast has been receiving challenges. The Coast region is now seeking divorce from ODM after unveiling its new party.
The Kilifi Governor, Amason Kingi has now initiated the region's party that is known as Pamoja African Alliance (PAA). The party has opened new offices and it is now in the process of registering members countrywide ahead of its official launching which is yet to be scheduled. ODM ally, the Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir has criticised this action of launching a party at the Coast. He said that it is a toy and not a an election vehicle.
