Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga earlier on today, defended his intention to give each poor family Kshs 6,000 per month, once he ascends to power.
He stated that every family in the country deserves a dignified life, saying that no family in Kenya should sleep hungry because of poverty.
He explained that to achieve that, his government will fight corruption and the cash saved from the war on graft will be distributed to needy families.
He further added that a majority of ministries will get a 25% budget cut, so that the money can be sent out to over two million households to cushion Kenyans from abject poverty.
The former Prime Minister told of naysayers, who had said that his plan was untenable, he also dismissed those who said that his plan would create a dependency syndrome.
Most Kenyans took to social media to welcome the move, saying that if implemented would benefit alot of people.
