Uhuru had no choice but to use it because of an avoidable circumstances. Bill Arocho narrated the story, one of Uhuru's close friend.
Uhuru is known to have grown from a wealthy family and to have enjoyed his life and for him to use a bucket to shower, may look strange and something he's not used to. Arocho had accompanied Uhuru to Turkana County for an event. That day, Uhuru and his escorts, had to rest in an hotel that was good but it didnot have a shower.

Arocho knew Uhuru will find it difficult to shower the next morning because the bathroom was outside and it had no shower. Arocho said he had to wake up early the next morning to see if he will go to the bathroom.
To Arocho's surprise, Uhuru braved the challenge. He took the bucket, filled it with water and made his way to the bathroom outside the hotel. This showed Arocho that Uhuru understands every challenge and tackles them bravely. Also he said Uhuru understands every challenges Kenyans are facing.
