President Uhuru Completes Impromptu Coastal Tour, Visits Several Government Projects in the Region

The head of state made an impromptu visit to the coast region over the weekend, where he visited a number of government projects, even as he seeks to stamp his development legacy, a promise he made to the voters when he ascended to power. The president made visits to Mombasa County, Kwale and Kilifi Counties.

Infrastructure Projects

Top on the agenda of the president was enabling all Kenyans have access to infrastructure, through development of ports, road networks and rail networks. In his coastal tour, the president visited the port and made an inspection of the ongoing construction of Likoni Bridge. He also made a visit to several roads under construction.

Water Projects

The government has been involved in several water distribution projects, with the government investing heavily in water collection projects, for some of the arid and semi arid areas of the country. Kilifi County is one of the counties that is a beneficiary of the projects and as such, it was the president's joy to inspect the progress of some select projects.

Meet and Greet

The head of state also had a chance to meet top county and security leaders. He also had a chance to interact with locals, even as he sought to receive feedback from the electorate.

For the head of state, the country is headed in the right direction. He expressed his satisfaction with the pace of the select projects he visited.
