Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, has sent a message to the Luo Community after he declared an interest in vying for the top seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement via The Star Kenya on Twitter, Kalonzo, who is also the Wiper Democratic Party leader, said that he is expecting the Luo Community to back his State House bid after stepping aside for former Prime Minister and his long-time ally Raila Odinga.
According to Kalonzo, with him having supported the ODM boss for three consecutive general elections, he feels that it's time for him to step aside so that he too can also try his luck.
"All Luos are now backing Kalonzo for President in 2027. We have to fight for the Constitution. I decided to step aside for Raila in 2022, now it’s time for Kalonzo to be president," exclaimed the Wiper leader.

Should this go through, then Kalonzo will lock horns with President William Ruto who is highly poised to contest for a second term.
