The Roots Party has striked a whip to it's running mate Justina Wamae after taking away powers she had in the party's affairs.
The party has appointed Yagnik Vinod Ramji as the party’s deputy through a decision that was made by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC).
“Following a resolution by the Roots Party NEC in a meeting held at the head office, we confirm the appointment of new party officials among them Yagnik Vinod Ramji as the deputy party leader,” party said in a gazette notice.
Affirming this, Wajackoya said Wamae was just his running mate and after the conclusion of the August 9th, 2022 elections, she had no role to play in the party.
"She was just a running-mate, which ended with the presidential election on August 9,” Wajackoyah said.
This division comes just after there were some differences between Wajackoyah and Justina Wamae, where the roots party saw she was misbehaving against the party rules.
