Gachagua's Light Moment at Ruto's Karen Residence After Welcoming Kiraitu to KKA

Deputy President-Elect Rigathi Gachagua on Friday shared a light moment at President-Elect William Ruto's Karen Residence, when the Kenya Kwanza Alliance camp was welcoming the Former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and leaders from his Development Empowerment Party, DEP better known as Mbus Party.

DEP was one of the affiliate political parties in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, which was fronting the former Prime minister Raila Odinga for the presidency in the August 9th elections.

While making his remarks, Kiraitu argued that the decision to join Ruto's KKA team came from their supporters and more so from the Mount Kenya Region, expressed their interest in to working with Ruto, on claims that the Mbus party's ideologies matches with those of the KKA team.

Gachagua in his remarks, argued that there was no solid reason as to why the KKA team and particularly the United Democratic Alliance, UDA party and the Mbus party were riding in different directions to an extend of almost becoming enemies if it was not the 'devil's interference.'

He went on to note that the Mount Kenya Region is one, and there is no East or West, and that they are happy to welcome the Mbus party in to the KKA team.

"We congratulate and welcome you for the move to join us, this will ensure that the people of Embu and Meru will not be left outside the government. We have always been one team, 'lakini ni shetani alikuja, akatukoroga,' because we cannot understand how people we used to laugh and work together were almost turning to be enemies."

"The good thing is that the people have decided for us to join hands, and that is evident based on how they voted for the presidency. There is no mountain between East and West, we are one, and we will speak in one voice," he added attracting cheers from the leaders.
