ODM party leader Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta has again suffered a major blow ahead of the 2022 general elections. This happens after Jubilee battalions from Meru County, have openly declared that they are supporting UDA party. And they have confirmed that Meru County is supporting Deputy President William Ruto 2022 Presidential bid. Meru County has been Jubilee party stronghold but things seems to have changed.

In a video posted by a writer, one of the Meru leaders claims that. He has now joined UDA and he will not support ODM party leader Raila Odinga. He declared that he will vote for the deputy president William Ruto. The Meru leader also claims that Meru County is supporting Deputy President William Ruto.
"mimi nataka kusema nimeingia UDA sitaki hii maneno ya huyu ambaye alikuwa anapinga kanisa sasa ndio anakimbia kanisa. Tunataka kumwambia aende asiende hatakuwa rais wa Kenya. Mpanga maneno yote lakini ujue Meru at large ya UDA na William Ruto. Mimi niko ndani ya UDA ndani kabisa", Says one of the Meru leaders.
Honorable Mithika Linturi has also delivered a powerful speech. Mithika claims that UDA is not a tribal party. It accommodate everyone in our country. And he said that he will mobilize Meru residents to join UDA.
"UDA nikama shopping mall kila tu anakaribishwa hakuna kuangalia ukabila. Meru tunasimama na Ruto. Na nitahakikisha wameru wamejoin UDA party", Says Mithika Linturi.
