'Tumekataa Matokeo' Raila Tells Azimio Supporters a Day after Ruto was Declared The Winner

ODM leader Raila Odinga has rejected presidential results a day after IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati's announcement at Bomas.

Mr Chebukati declared Kenya Kwanza candidate William Ruto as the President-elect after garnering 7,176,141votes beating Mr Odinga who got 6,942,930 Votes.

Addressing the press at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Tuesday, August 16, the ODM leader said that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Chebukati, breached the law by announcing the results alone.

" Our budding democracy suffered a major setback as a result of the actions of Mr Wafula Chebukati, Kenya faces a grave legal and political crisis." Raila said.

Raila's remarks at KICC comes minutes after IEBC commissioners gave more details on why they disagreed with Chebukati's final tally.

Speaking from the Serena Hotel, the four commissioners claimed that Chebukati overruled them and insisted on announcing the results despite concerns they raised.
