Chebukati Leaves Raila Hanging Over Greece Ballot Paper Inspection Trip

Last month, Raila through his lawyer Paul Mwangi wrote to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission demanding information on planned printing of ballot papers.

Raila wanted information on; the location of the Greek firm tasked with printing of ballot papers, security features of the ballot papers and transport and storage logistics put in place by the commission. Raila wanted this information disclosed before printing of the ballot papers begins.

In response, Chebukati promised to include stakeholders and party officials on an inspection trip to Greece to inspect the printing of the ballots.

However, sources from the independent electoral and Boundaries Commission have revealed that printing of the 200M ballot papers is set to begin anytime from today. This after IEBC gave parties four days to change names of their aspirants, the four days ended yesterday.

Chebukati has not acted on his promise to Raila to take stakeholders and party officials to Greece to inspect the printing of the papers. A source within the commission has revealed that IEBC has no budget to facilitate such a trip. Chebukati has remained silent. PAGE 4.
