Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party spokesperson Prof Makau Mutua has accused president William Ruto of allegedly appointing the tribunal that is probing the four dissenting independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) commissioners even before the national assembly debated the matter.
In a message on social media, Prof Makau Mutua observed that Chief justice and president of the supreme court Martha Koome allegedly had her calendar cleared in advance as occasioned by her speedy swearing into office of the tribunal members.
He accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of allegedly being desperate following their well coordinated operation against the four IEBC commissioners that he says was orchestrated in a quick manner.
"It is clear the kangaroo tribunal to hang the four independent electoral and boundaries commission officials was formed before UDA party members of the national assembly approved the justice and legal affairs committee report. The calendar of Chief justice Martha Koome was pre-cleared to swear in the hangmen. The speed of the operation bespeaks of a regime that’s deeply insecure and illegitimate," he said.
