Today, KANU delegates from across the country held a consultative meeting at the Bomas of Kenya to choose Baringo county senator Gideon Moi as the presidential flag bearer of the party. The general elections, slated for August next year has changed the current political climate, with various top political leaders stepping up to show their interests in the presidency seat, a hotly contested one.
Gideon Moi will however face a stiff competition from his fellows, one of them being Deputy President William Ruto, who is from the vote-rich Rift Valley province just like him. Dp Ruto will be vying for presidency in using the United Democratic Alliance party ticket.
But who will the people of Rift Valley choose as their favorite leader? According to Lord Abraham Mutai, a popular political blogger, he said that he prefers Gideon Moi to Dp Ruto. "The biggest strength for Gideon Moi is his charisma and charm. While Ruto is combative, antagonistic, cruel and unforgiving, Gideon Moi is humble, soft, forgiving and reconciliatory in approach. As a Kalenjin, if I'm to support a fellow Kalenjin, Mr Moi it is," Lord Abraham said via his official Twitter account.
Do you agree with Abraham's sentiments about the two Kalenjin leaders? Kindly share your thoughts.
