On January 12, Ugandan general and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba recalled his statement regarding the capture of Nairobi three months earlier.
Muhoozi Kainerugaba said, via his official Twitter handle, that some people thought "capturing" Nairobi was a joke. However, for some people like him, it wasn't a joke because he believes the truth will win someday.
In addition, Muhoozi, a senior advisor to the president in charge of special operations, stated that the East African federation would soon be established.
An online outburst resulted from Muhoozi's tweet about capturing Nairobi in two weeks, which compelled his father Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to apologize on his son's behalf.
"I made a "Joke" three months ago about taking over Nairobi in two weeks. It was immediately recognized as "a Joke" by Harry, Dick, or Tom. Unfortunately, it was not, however, for some. In either case, the truth will prevail! He wrote, "The East African Federation shall be realized."
His statement follows his claim that his father, Yoweri Museveni, trained Uganda's special forces to win every war, making them one of the world's greatest militaries.
However, Ugandans' online reactions to his statement varied.
"Our military is ranked 12th in Africa and 92nd in the world, with the militaries of Sudan, Sudan's congo, and Kenya on top of ours!", One responded.
"@updf is a professional army with a face and a heart of a human being. Discipline is a fundamental UPDF value, and I believe the @updf_ contains our most brilliant Ugandans. Another spoke.
Let's just sit back and see what comes next.
