President William Ruto's government started off on a high note and it is expected to work even better after the announcement of its cabinet. People have been following Ruto's activities for quite some time and they think he is not going to retain the Attorney General like Uhuru Kenyatta did. Paul Kihara is the AG that served during Uhuru's tenure from 2018.
Reports from people close to the president have revealed that currently there are three senior lawyers who have a close relationship with Ruto from whom he might choose his Attorney General. These three lawyers are also eager to hold the position at hand. The Solicitor General position is also at stake and is currently under Kennedy Ogeto.
In 2013 Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Githu Muigai as the AG who he replaced in 2017 with Paul Kihara. In a recent ceremony at State House where six judges were sworn in, Kenyans noticed that the incumbent Attorney General was not well treated or recognized which is an indication that he could be going home.
