Ms. Karanja was contesting on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, and garnered 442,864 votes.
During the presentation of the certificate, Nakuru presiding officer while congratulations her ask her to serve the people of Nakuru diligently as the newly elected leader.
He further went ahead to ask her not to forget her duties as she went around with her business especially running of Keroche Breweries.
"Usipotee Ukifanya Biashara. Seeve people of Nakuru diligently," he told her.
During the hotly contested race, Tabitha's main competitor, Lawrence Karanja, was contesting on the Jubilee Party ticket and managed 163,625 votes.
Ms.Karanja was accompanied by her husband Mr. Joseph Karanja to receive her nomination certificate.
Tabitha is succeeding Susan Kihika who is vying for the gubernatorial race through UDA ticket.
Currently, Nakuru PO is announcing results and Kihika has been announced as the Governor elect, unsettling the incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui who is vying through Jubilee ticket.
