Former Sen. Boni Khalwale May Not Win Kakamega Governorship Race, Here's Why (Opinion)

Boni Khalwale is set to vie for Kakamega governor using the UDA party ticket. The elections are set for early August of next year and politicians are currently running under the clock to ensure they sell their agenda and acquire votes that will enable them win.

Boni Khalwale is the former senator for Kakamega county and was defeated back in 2017 when he went for a re-run. The Western Region has always been an ODM strong hold and they will therefore have their own candidate in the region. This may therefore, interfer with Khalwale's political ambitions of being Kakamega county governor under the UDA party. This is because he will most likely face a defeat from the ODM party which is very popular in the region.

The Kakamega people will therefore, vote the aspirant who will be vying using the ODM party and not the UDA party ticket.
