Martha Karua Leads Ann Waiguru Follows & Susan Kihika Comes Fourth In The Mt Kenya Women Leadership

The 2022 elections are fast approaching and there are some peolle who argies that the deputy president come 2022 should be a lady or a woman. Since independence, women have never had an opportunity to serve at the senior most positions in Kenya. However, some women leaders have tried their best to be elected as governors, MPs, and senators.

Martha Karua was ranked as the most influential woman leader in mount Kenya region. Martha Karua who hails from Kirinyaga county was flored down by her competitor Ann Waiguru who is now the current Kirinyaga governor. Karua is a former minister of Justice and Legal Affairs during the time of President Mwai Kibaki. She also served as a member of parliament of Gichugu constituency.

Ann Waiguru came distant fourth in the ranking. The opinion poll was conducted in the counties of Kirinyaga, Muranga, Kiambu, Laikipia, Nyeri, and Nyandarua. Susan Kihika, a current senator of Nakuru county was ranked fourth and Muranga women representative Sabina Chege was ranked third in the latest poll.

Martha Karua: 35.3%

Ann Waiguru: 18.7%

Sabina Wanjiru Chege: 15.6%

Susan Kihika: 7.3%

Not Sure: 7.3%

Alice Wahome: 5.5%

Gathoni Wamuchomba: 4.9%

Purity Ngirici: 2.3%

Kawira Mwangaza: 1%

Bishop Margaret Wanjiru: 0.7%
