“Huyu Mama Ataweza Kweli?” DP Ruto Excites Crowd as He “Helps” a Woman During Mombasa Rally

Deputy President William Ruto made a stopover at Kongowea Market in Mombasa where he dished out more money to “hustlers”.

Ruto excited the crowd after he invited the woman who was to be given money on behalf of the traders to speak as she was asked to climb on top of Ruto’s car.

The DP had revealed he was informed by Nyali MP Mohammed Ali alias Jicho Pevu how traders at Kongowea market have been affected due to Covid-19.

Ruto said he will give Sh2 million to help the affected traders as he invited their chairlady to address the crowd.

“I have talked to Moha and he has told me that small-scale traders have been affected by Coronavirus, their businesses have suffered. I will give your chairlady Sh2 million to help boost your business,” said Ruto as the woman was being helped to get on top of Ruto’s car.

Ruto paused his speech as the woman was trying to climb on the bonnet and he said, “Huyu mama ataweza kweli? (Can she manage?)”

The deputy president then helped the woman to climb on the bonnet of his car amid cheers from the crowd.

The chairlady thanked DP Ruto for the donation as she asked him to help build their market if he emerges victorious in next year’s presidential election saying they work under deplorable conditions.

Ruto continued with his speech as he promised to address the issues affecting the Kongowea traders adding that the Sh2 million he gave out was too little to help all the traders.

The DP said come next year, his government will ensure every constituency gets Sh120 million to help hustlers boost their businesses instead of them depending on shylocks and fuliza.
