As Kenyans and other citizens of the world continue to keep their eyes on the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to complete their tallies before announcing the president elect, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) deputy presidential candidate Rigathi Gachagua has asked Kenya Kwanza supporters to be calm and patient.
According to the outgoing Mathira Constituency member of parliament, the Deputy President William Ruto is likely to be declared by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati as the president elect. On the same hand, he dismissed claims by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya camp that Raila Odinga is leading the presidential race, saying that the winner will be determined by IEBC after it shall have completed verification of the presidential declaration forms.
"All is well, relax good people. Don't be drawn into sideshows. We have no time for their usual drama. Our business right now is verification of Form 34A and 34B at the National tallying center. Mbele iko sawa," said Honourable Rigathi Gachagua.
Meanwhile, the election is not to divide us, it is to help us set up a new group of leaders who will advance the country. It is important that we embrace patience, peace, unity, love and solidarity as we continue to wait results from IEBC.
