Journalists Injured By Military Police As They Cover Bobi Wine's Journey To Petition UNHRC Offices

At least five journalists were injured as they covered Robert Kyagulanyi's journey to petition United Nations Human Rights Commission office over human rights violations in Uganda.

NTV Uganda's Cliff Wamala, NBS TV's Josephine Namakumbi, New Vision's Timothy Mulungi, Daily Monitor's Irene Abalo and Geoffrey Twesigye are among the assaulted journalist.

Nicholas Bamulanzeki's camera is reported to have been damaged by the military police.

Daily Monitor on their twitter post wrote that at least seven Journalists had been admitted in hospitals after sustaining serious injuries from the military as NUP's presidential candidate was delivering his petition at UNHRC Offices in Kololo.

National Unity Platform party leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is petitioning United Nations Human Rights Commission in what he termed as continued harassment, torture and abductions of its party members and supporters.

Despair has continued to rise as a result of the rising cases of state enforced disappearances, illegal detentions and abductions become the order of the day especially in the aftermath of 2021 general elections.
