A number of luo Nyanza leaders have come out openly to push community kingpin Raila Odinga into retirement. It is widely viewed that their main aim is to benefit from his retirement in terms of their small parties gaining new members. Some of them already have their parties and if something like a slip happens in ODM then they are set to benefit big time. Their has also been debate on South Nyanza vs Central Nyanza. The people from the south feel that it is their time to have something of their own in terms of party. ODM is headed by Raila Odinga who is from Central Nyanza.
Below are the leader's listed as pushing for Raila's retirement.
He supported William Ruto's nod before the election. He is party leader of PDP and will be looking to consolidate Migori and especially Kuria.
He is also from Migori. He vied under Jubilee party in the last election. He had a party sometime back called "Kalausi" A Raila retirement would give him a chance to make a comeback.
He is looking to consolidate Homabay County. He is associated with a yet to be launched party dubbed "Democratic Congress"
He joined Ruto's side after losing the Siaya governor election. He feels it is time for others also to try and go post Odinga.
He is party leader MDG. Already joined Ruto camp and will be looking to benefit from Siaya in case Raila retires.
