The 2022 presidential polls are inching nearer and nearer and so is the race to state house. As the clock ticks, lots of political developments are being witnessed from all camps. Talk of massive defections, new parties being launched, intra - party fights and various demands being made by political parties among others.
Sunday Nation's headline ask whether Dp Ruto is the new Raila because he is doing what Raila used to do in the past. It has mentioned the two protest letters written by UDA, one to IEBC and the other one to CJ Martha Koome.
The protest letters have evoked memories of NASA letters in 2017. These letters were copied to African Union Commission, US embassy and British High Commission notifying them of lapses in the electoral system.
Abuga Makori now says Ruto is the new Raila since that is what Raila also did in the past. Millie Odhiambo is also dragged in as she was Raila's point person just as Ndindi Nyoro is to the Deputy President.
" In brief, DP Ruto is doing what Raila Odinga did several years ago. Likes of Ndindi Nyoro are doing what Millie Odhiambo has been doing. But the contrast is, ODM has been factual, UDA operates on conspiracy theories and paranoia. " Makori said.
