ODM party leader has revealed that his first meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta before agreeing on a handshake took 13 hours.
While speaking in Tuesday at Safari Park where he was hosted by Mt Kenya Foundation, the former Prime Minister stated that he met Uhuru in another meeting which lasted for 6 hours.
“The first time we met to talk we talked for a long time, we talked for 13 hours from 2pm to 3am then we adjourned. Two days later, we met again for six hours. So, a total of 19 hours talking. When we first met we were just looking at each other,” Raila Odinga said.
Odinga has been trying to popularize his political and economic agendas for the country in the Mt Kenya region with the help of his handshake brother Uhuru Kenyatta in recent days.
Odinga met with wealthy businessman and equity founder Peter Munga during the forum.
Other Mt Kenya Foundation figures present included S.K Macharia, owner of Royal Media Services (RMS), Wilfred Murungi, former KRA boss Michael Waweru, coordinator Mutuma Nkanata, and Titus Ibui, chairman of the Lapsset Board.
Various officials from Mount Kenya, including governors, senators, church leaders, and other ODM leaders, also attended the occasion.
