What ODM Leader Raila Odinga Said Today About His 2022 Presidential Bid

The former prime minister Raila Odinga on Saturday 11th September toured several parts of his Nyanza backyard among them Rangwe constituency where he attended a funeral service of the father-in-law of the area member of parliament Hon. Lilian Gogo.

Raila was accompanied by several leaders including the former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, ODM party secretary general Edwin Sifuna, former Kasipul member of parliament Oyugi Magwanga, his elder brother Oburu Odinga, Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang' among several political leaders.

Raila took the opportunity to talk about his 2022 presidential bid where he still maintained that he will only declare his bid if his chances of winning will be very high.

He said that winning a presidential election is not a walk in the park and it needs a lot of preparations. He encouraged the people to ensure that they take the IDs and ensure that they register as voters as that is the only that will make him achieve his ambition.

" I know you are eagerly waiting for me to declare my 2022 presidential bid. I will not do that until everyone register as a voter as that is the only way we will get what we have been longing for," Raila said in Luo language.

Raila expressed his confident that he stands a better chance of winning the next year's presidential polls if only he gets maximum support from his backyard.

On his side, former Nairobi governor also encouraged Nyanza political leaders to stop focusing too much on their ambitions and help the ODM leader on looking for votes in several parts of the country.

Kidero further promised that they will work with the relevant government agencies to ensure that the ID cards are issued to everyone who has attained the age of eighteen years in all the villages in Homa Bay county.
