Obado Gives Ruto A Grand Reception In Migori Only Comparable To Raila’s

On Saturday, when Migori governor Okoth Obado gave Deputy President William Samoei Ruto a spectacular welcome, there were different reactions.

Before today's visit, the deputy president made a series of baseless claims that there were plans to heckle him once he arrived in Migori.

Migori senator Ochillo Ayako was allegedly recruiting goons to stone DP's motorcade, according to one Denis Itumbi, although he never proved anything beyond the allegations.

“Dear Migori Senator, Hon. Ochilo George Mbogo Ayacko, The mobilization you are are reportedly currently doing, the goons you are allegedly engaging will NOT deliver the Governor seat you are seeking. Booing the DP and stoning his motorcade tomorrow, will just make us STRONGER. Please pay them more money and add the goons, we no longer buy FEAR -We will be there tomorrow.” Alleged Itumbi.

Migori governor Okoth Obado who is an ally of William Ruto had previously appealed to residents to allow the DP to sell his agenda without being met with violence.

The Migori governor urged the locals to embrace peace and welcome all political leaders regardless of their political affiliations.

“I went to the Suna East Sub County funeral of Mama Monica Achieng Owuor and the Awendo Sub County burial of Mama Norah Ondigo Mbogo. I implore the people of Migori to embrace peace and accept all political leaders, regardless of their party allegiances. During this difficult time, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. “I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Awendo and Suna East for their kind welcome,” Obado wrote.

Several members of parliament echoed Governor Obado's remarks while cautioning Ruto to refrain from his regular attacks on the opposition leader, which might agitate Migori locals.

“Ruto is free to come to Awendo and market his development and political ideology because we want all politicians to receive the same reception across the country ahead of the 2022 General Election. We also send our best wishes to the local and regional political leaders who will be hosting him. They would be missed in the ODM,” stated Walter Owino, MP for Awendo.

Governor Obado's appeal seemed to have done wonders, as DP Ruto was greeted warmly in a region thought to be loyal to Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

As a result, Denis Itumbi, who had begged for violence to stain the innocent village in a certain way, has been left with an egg on his face by Ruto's beautiful reception in Migori.
