Mombasa county is now expecting to have new governor after Hassan Ali Joho has spent ten years in the office and now is set to hand over the office to the forthcoming governor on August after elections,Mombasa governor race is set to be very competitive after the current poll held by National Media Info track Research and consulting showing a gap of 7% between Nassir and Mike Sonko having picked 33% and 40% respectively.
The poll further shows,the both candidates are attracting voters from different parties showing former Nairobi governor securing 63% of voters which did not show are from either United Democratic Alliance(UDA) or ODM party while Nassir had 12% undecided.
Mombasa county has a total of 654,063 votes,populous Kisauni with 140,299 votes, Mvita (125,635), Nyali (117,241) and Likoni (97,888). Changamwe has 96,883 and Jomvu (76,117).
In Kisauni Sonko leads with 39% while Nassir 34%,Sonko Mvita- 28%,Nassir-48%,Nyali Sonko 36%,Nassir 38%,Likoni Sonko 38% Nassir 35%,Changamwe Sonko 39% Nassir 34%,Jomvu Sonko 29% Nassir 36%.
