Election Observers Comprehensive Report and Message To Kenyans After Ruto Was Declared Winner

Yesterday at around 6 pm, the National Returning officer Wafula Chebukati, who is also the chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission-IEBC, relieved the anxiety that was building among Kenyans by announcing the results of the presidential elections. Befor the announcement, we witnessed drama unfolding before our eyes and the full glare of cameras at the Bomas of Kenya-the national tally center.

The drama was from Azimio's side, and security officers intervened by removing Azimio members from the venue. Chebukati was determined to announce the results, and he did so regardless of the drama. He announced Dr. William Ruto as the winner and president-elect. he also named Rigathi Gachagua as the deputy president-elect. However, Azimio has maintained that the election process, especially the final phase, was dominated by malpractices.

Today, the election observers gave their comprehensive report concerning the entire election process up to the announcement of the winning presidential candidate. The election observer's report indicated that the election process was free, fair, and credible. The report further shows that, there were a few malpractices, but most were minor and can not warrant the nullification of election results. The independent election observers call upon every Kenyan to love his or her country as well as love each other because it is only through love that peace will dominate. They released some of their projected figures, and the funny thing is that their projection still puts Ruto in the lead.
