The Meru county governor Kiraitu Murungi met The leader of Azimio Raila Odinga. During the meeting the governor cited that Azimio will form the next government and Meru county cannot afford to be on the opposition side.
Governor Kiraitu Murungi, Devolution Empowerment Party Leader (DEP) has officially joined Azimio la Umoja to ensure Meru county does not go the opposition, in an occasion graced by Presidential Candidate the former prime minister Hon.Rt. Raila Odinga.
Governor Kiraitu said the decision to join Azimio, came after majority vote by an earlier BUS Party delagates meeting in Isiolo, informing the party leader's declaration at St. Michaels Retreat center in Makutano after a thorough research.
Hon . Raila highlighted some of his intray development agenda if elected president is to ensure Meru is not left behind and will take close focus especially Agricultural cashcrops, Road networks and Irrigation to ensure Meru residents grow economically.
Present was Governor Wycliffe Oparanya-Kakamega, Hon. Titus Ntuchiu-Meru Deputy Governor, Lenny Kivuti -Bus Party chairman, Suna West MP Junet Mohamed and delegates drawn from Meru, Isiolo, Embu and Tharaka Nithi.
