Though the incumbent Embu Martin Wambora joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance, he seems to be keeping off his succession duel. The governor has not declared support for any candidate, not even for his UDA party aspirant Cecily Mbarire.
His silence has stirred up the race giving or rather providing a fair level playing ground for all participants.
This has seen Lenny Kivuti, of Kiraitu Murungi's BUS party begin to shake ground in the county. Mr Kivuti who narrowly lost in 2017 to Wambora, has upped his efforts to grab the seat with numerous political rallies across the county.
Mr. Kivuti is attracting masses of people in his rallies compared to his UDA bad Jubilee rivals. Mrs Mbarire who is close rival is having an uphill task countering Kivuti's wave in he county.
According to pundits, Jubilee party's Emilio Kathuri seems to have been overwhelmed by the hot race that has evidently narrowed down to Mbarire and a popular Kivuti.
Recently conducted statistics proved that Bus Party's Lenny Kivuti is leading the race at 38% popularity with UDA's Cecily Mbarire coming at a distant second place at 31%.
With only 92 days left to August elections, Mbarire and Jubilee Party's Emilio Kathuri need to pull up their pants in campaigns to stand any chance of winning.
