It is known that Wajackoya is advocating for the legalization of weed and many young Kenyans are now associating with him. However, many people do not understand is that Wajackoya and his running mate are after the legalization of medicinal and commercial bhang. Wajackoya says that legalization of cannabis products will ensure that the country settles its debts within a short period and start using the proceeds to develop the country.
A section of Kenyans have since misunderstood Wajackoya claiming that people will openly abuse the drug when he gets power. This has led to an incident that Wajackoya rebuked on Monday when a resident of Kisumu County openly smoked weed during his rallies.
Wajackoya said he does not advocate for people to misbehave and openly abuse the drug as he is not advocating for that. Wajackoya said that the drug will only be legalized for medicinal purposes and nobody will be allowed to smoke it just the way they want.
Some leaders have also criticised Wajackoya’s camp saying that bhang is illegal in the country against the law. Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and the Catholic church have condemned Wajackoya saying that he cannot be allowed to destroy the young people.
