William Ruto is facing stiff competition from Raila Odinga in his race to statehouse. His popularity in Mount Kenya is diminishing at a faster rate. It has been claimed that Ruto and his allies are running out of options. Their strategy of seeking for votes has been a monotony among the voters.
Recently Kirinyaga county governor Anne Waiguru joined UDA camp. Her move led to wrangles with the woman representative of the same county. Wangui Ngirici yesterday come out and said that she is ditching Ruto and his party. She explained her regret in investing her resources in popularizing UDA party in Kirinyaga county.
This is likely to cost Ruto the Mount Kenya vote which is key to any presidential candidate. Currently Raila Odinga is being supporter by seven governors. Ruto only has the backing of one while two are undecided. If things continue as they are Ruto may end up only getting votes from his Rift Valley backyard.
