Ruto's allies respond to claims of initiating Uhuru's impeachment process.

Deputy President William Ruto's allies have dismissed claims that they are planning to impeach President Uhuru Kenyata by using the anti-BBI judgement made by the High Court on Thursday, May 13.

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua states that they will let the President complete his term in peace and that the main focus is the 2022 general elections.

According to the Belgut MP Nelson Koech, they have never thought of impeaching Uhuru at any point.

The court ruled that the BBI process, which was led by President Uhuru was unconstitutional. The President had violated the integrity and provisions act of chapter six of the constitution and this was an impeachable offence.

Last week, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) allies, led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro celebrated the court judgement but denied claims of initiating the impeachment process, urging the Head of State to make ammends by first appointing the judges.
