DP Ruto on Why Bishops Should Cordially Pray For Raila Odinga

In 10 months, President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure will end allowing room for a new president to take the apex seat.

His stint has been castigated as a fail especially from the Tangatanga division of Jubilee who feel that Kenyatta must be a lame-duck president for cutting ties with his deputy.

However, his stint has seen Kenya make a major stride on the world stage in terms of infrastructure.

Kiraitu Murungi applauded his leadership while thanking him for hinting at penning down a contract for the construction of a dual carriageway that would run through Meru town.

While attending a church service at AI PCEA in Meru county, Deputy President William Ruto called on the unity of political leaders ahead of the August 9 General Election.

He mentioned that politicians seeking a platform in churches to sell their agenda should be ready to balance politics and the word of God. He reiterated that decorum should be upheld when a politician is given the podium, and that dirty politics shouldn't be littered at places of worship.

Ruto has always considered himself as the reason ODM leader Raila Odinga is frequenting churches. According to Dr Ruto, the former prime minister turned to churches after he saw what the mighty hand of Christ had done in Ruto's life.

Ruto insinuates that Raila together with a bunch of other politicians are still toddlers in faith and that the Bishops should warmly welcome them into the summons and help them grow in faith.

"Walikuwa hawajulikana Kwa kukuja kanisani lakini Sasa wamejua yakwamba Mungu ndio kusema," William Ruto could be quoted saying.

Ruto's declarations do not sit well with several Politicians allied to Mr Odinga. According to them, someone's faith isn't guaranteed by how often he frequents churches.

DP Ruto called on the bishops to pray for political contestants so that they realize how mighty the word of God is.
