This is according to a statement by the vocal senator through his Twitter account after sending a letter to the speaker of The Senate, requesting Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to appear before the house in a statement to explain the grounds of forcefully evicting herders from Laikipia.
According to Ole Kina, the land in question belongs to the herders as it was historically theirs before the colonialists took it from them, hence the need for statement explaining why they could be evicted without any consultation.
Below was a letter to the speaker as it was written:
After this letter, Ole Kina Took to his Twitter to send a harsh warning to the Interior CS warning that the words he altered during when he was making statement on the eviction could have adverse effect to the community, urging him to think before altering any word.
"@FredMatiangi I appeal to you to think about your utterances when it comes to the livelihood of our people! The white settles did not come with land they found it here and through title deeds they disfranchised our people." Ole Kina said here: https://t.co/aq9q3n7d59
