The CS of Trade Moses Kuria recently warned all farmers to release hoarded maize especially in North Rift Valley and Western region or else they will be forced to import maize. He also gave this farmers seventy two hours to bring out the maize in their storage, by Tuesday. They are many leaders in the country opposing the importation of the Genetically Modified Organism in both Kenya Kwanza alliance and Azimio La Umoja alliance.
Caleb Amisi is the current member of parliament of Saboti. He is also a strong ally of former prime Minister Raila Odinga. He told CS Moses Kuria to tell his boss that importation of Genetically Modified Organism is not possible because they will be killing farmers in Kenya. He also urged CS Moses Kuria to listen to the voice of farmers across the country.
