Moses Kuria's Brother Gets Direct Jubilee Ticket

The Jubilee Party has given Aloise Kinyanjui, the brother of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, a direct ticket to run in the Juja parliamentary election.

Kinyajui received the ticket on Sunday, April 17, and will face his brother's former ally, George Koimburi, who won the UDA nominations in Juja.

Aloise expressed interest in running for his brother's Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party, but defected to Jubilee after his elder brother joined Deputy President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Moses Kuria, who sponsored Koimburi in the Juja by-election last year on behalf of the People's Empowerment Party (PEP), introduced him to elective politics.

Koimburi, on the other hand, split with the Gatundu South MP after PEP was ousted, prompting the Juja MP to join UDA.

Aloise and Koimburi have previously clashed on the issue of the incumbent's development record, specifically the management of a public toilet.

Kinyanjui had launched a low-key campaign for the Juja position in January 2022, but the Jubilee ticket now validates him as a contender.

Aloise is a retired detective who worked for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) before entering politics.

Meanwhile, another Kuria brother, Joel Ngigi Kuria, is the Chief Officer of Agriculture in Kiambu County and is campaigning for Kiambu Governor James Nyoro on a Jubilee ticket. On a Chama Cha Kazi ticket, Moses Kuria is attempting to unseat Nyoro.

Ngigi is a known supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and has lent his support to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

David Gakuyo was also chosen to run for the Thika Town Parliamentary seat during the Jubilee Party nominations.

Gakuyo will face former MP Alice Ng'ang'a, who received a direct United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, for the position.
