Just In: Why PNU Has Been Blocked From BBI Hearing at Supreme Court

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has been dealt a huge blow after the court blocked it from participating in BBI case. The BBI hearing is currently ongoing and its fate will determine whether Kenya will go into a referendum or not.

However, a Supreme Court Judge has allowed 8 top legal experts on matters of local and international law to participate in the case as friends of the court. PNU has rather been blocked because the Supreme Court feels that PNU has no stake in the matter.

BBI was earlier on dealt a huge blow by the Court of Appeal on grounds that it was illegal. The proponents of the constitutional amendment bill did not stop there but proceeded to the highest court on the land seeking an overuling of the previous verdict.

DP Ruto has been among the greatest critiques of this bill arguing that creating positions is not important at the moment and is not what Kenya needs.
