"It's Not About Opposing Ruto's Government" Expert Claims Raila's Main Agenda on Kamukunji Rally

The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance boss Raila Odinga is expected to lead a rally today at Kamukunji, where he will engage Kenyans on key issues affecting the country at the moment.

In a number of his recent pressers, Raila said that different issues will be discussed, arguing that they are keen to discuss on what President William Ruto and his government are getting wrong.

According to Governance Expert Alex Mwathi, Raila's eye are already focused on the 2027 elections, and that his today's and other upcoming rallies will not be about opposing or criticizing Ruto's administration, but re-engineering himself after his loss during the August 9th elections.

"As soon as the elections are done, we know that in our country that the campaigns of the other election starts. What we are seeing today in Kamukunji is the beginning of the 2027 campaigns, and of course you start by creating ills of the current government so that you can have the masses on your side."

"Raila is 100 per cent seeking relevance as the kingpin of the opposition because the last five years he was part of the regime that was there. This is the opportunity to start creating the Raila he was before."
