“Safiri Salama” Sombre Mood As DP William Ruto Mourns Father To Key Political Ally [PHOTOS]


Deputy President William Ruto has mourned the untimely death of Mzee Richard Gichohi, the father to Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia. The United Democratic Alliance (UDAku) party leader has mourned the deceased as a selfless man who was after uplifting people in the society. He also quoted a verse from the book of Psalms 147:3.

“May God grant the Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia, the family and their loved ones strength to bear with the loss of their dear father, Mzee Richard Gichohi. Be comforted by Psalm 147:3: “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds,” William Ruto posted on his official social media pages.

The burial ceremony was held at Gathi Primary School in Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County. According to the Facebook post, among the leaders who accompanied the Taka Taka cult leader were Senator Irungu Kang'ata, Isaac Mwaura, Deputy Governor Peter Ndabiri, Ndindi Nyoro among other leaders.

“During the burial service of Mzee Gichohi at Githi Primary School grounds, Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County, in the company of Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndabiri, MPs Rigathi Gachagua, Ndindi Nyoro, Benjamin Washiali, Rahab Mukami, Irungu Kang'ata, Benjamin Gathiru and Isaac Mwaura,” Ruto added.

It is worth noting that most of the leaders that the DP listed are not members of his UDAku party but were present at the funeral to bid farewell and console the bereaved friends and family.
