There was massive jubilations when deputy president William Ruto arrived at Wanguru stadium for this year's Mashujaa day celebrations. The deputy president was accompanied by his wife Racheal Ruto. He was warmly welcomed by senior government officials and senior defense leaders.
Several national leaders are inattendance for the national event. The leaders includes deputy president William Ruto, former prime minister Raila Odinga, national assembly speaker Justin Muturi, senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and chief justice Martha Koome.
Local leaders are also present in the event. They include Kirinyanga governor Anne Waiguru, Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula, Kirinyanga women representative Purity Ngirici, Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, senator James Orengo among other elected leaders.
